Under a Texas Sky

Where to even start with this one you guys. Oh man. I picked this one up from a pile my book club had read and I wished from the very beginning that I had put it back. I had hoped for a fun summery romance, especially because here in Northern Utah we're still having a pretend spring (the weather here has been nuts!). Anyway, this was anything but that. Honestly, this book was like reading an 'adult' book written by a middle grader. Or if not written by one, then written for one (although I'm assuming there was a spicy scene in the book but the copy I was reading had had some pages sharpied out haha). This one was so tough for me you guys.

It's a story about Anna, a woman trying to break into acting with her first big role, and Dalton the man she inadvertently falls in love with. I still don't understand how the love happened. They were nice to each other and then they were making declarations. It was weird. But back on track, the movie that she's doing keeps getting sabotaged and so it's a mystery for her to figure out who's doing it, all with the help of Dalton, a local in the area they're filming in. Honestly, the plot was pretty simple. I knew who dun it for a while and it really was a push to have to finish it. For all of these reasons, I'm begging you not to even try it. Ignore the New York Times Bestselling Author stamped above the title, it will bring you nothing but a headache.

1/5 stars (and I'd do less if I could!) and my edition was PG ish (some language and who knows what the sharpie covered!)
