The Witch from the Sea

Oh man you guys. I knew this book was going to be silly and frilly and all the things I don't usually read, but I picked it up because it looked like something my Great Nana would have read. She was a huge reader and every time she would visit me we'd walk to the library and get books together. When she would call my mom and I would answer (sometimes I really miss house phones!) she would ask me what I was reading. It's been a really special memory for me. Just before she died she gave me a book, The Incredible Journey, and I will be honest with you guys, I haven't read it yet. I hate knowing its the last book and I've held on to that now for twelve years.

Anyway, that's why I grabbed this book, but I don't think even my Great Nana would have liked this one. It's a whole lot of cheating speculation, marriage against her will, and other such things that I just don't like. There was nothing redeemable in my mind with this book. There wasn't even any romance! Don't bother guys, the cover is deceiving and it felt like trudging through wet cement to finish this one.

⭐️ (and I don't think it even deserves that), PG-13
