Igniting Darkness

Holy cow! I didn't expect it to get much better, but LaFevers really blew me away in this one. Sybella has always been one of my favorite characters and I really loved watching her grow so much in this novel. She really became a heroine I wanted to grow up and become. Someone who understands justice but tempers it with the right amount of mercy. I loved watching her grow into someone who realized love and relationships doesn't mean giving any of your power or strength away, but allowing it to combine and grow.

I also enjoyed watching Genevieve coming into her own. She grew to be so strong and learned not to back down, even to the King. Learning how to trust was also something that really struck me in her story. I loved when she talked about how Maraud was a gift given to her too early to appreciate. Who hasn't been there at some point?

LaFevers also dabbled into a male perspective this time, something I've never seen from her before. It was a little jarring at first but I grew to really enjoy the different thoughts and insight Maraud could give.

Salonius is still one of my favorite characters. He just got more and more amazing in every book. I wish I could say more about the other characters but I don't want to give anything away for those of you who haven't experienced this yet. It's such a fine line to walk! Basically, if you haven't read it yet, you're missing out! Finish it so we can chat more!

5/5 stars, I'd give it more if I could! And it has stayed pg-13.
